I was thinking about getting a pair of clarinets just to play 3rd
clarinet for fun in the local wind ensemble. So I looked at the
Patricola web site and saw that they make clarinets with two
barrels. And then I saw that their justification for two barrels
was that one was for a bright sound, the other for a dark sound.
Er, uhm, maybe I should shop elsewhere.

Their page showing players who use their clarinets does not have
a single American listed. That does not mean that Americans
don't play the instrument, but other than that I'm not sure.

They make then gold plated.

I've never played a Patricola. Would anyone care to enlighten me
before I start thinking about spending a lot of money?
