I've been challenging my teacher. As only a first time playing clarinet 49 year
can do. We've had some ... spirited(?) discussions on single vs. double lip
embrochure, the meaning of keys and more. The challenge inspired discussions
have led to a deeper understanding of the topics.

Humble and sponge, but be sure you understand what you're humbling and sponging to.

P.S. When I attended visual arts school (SFAI) I went in with an attitude of
absorbing whatever I could from the faculty. Their collective intent was to get
students to develop personal vision. They worked hard to steer students from
sponging to exploring.
