Thanks for the fine scholarly analysis, and taking the time to share your
knowledge here.
Never having performed the Rapsodie I didn't notice the wrong chords, but
now that you point it out, I listened to my 4 recordings of it, and yes,
indeed, it is certainly a glaring mistake.
I ranked my four recordings in order of preference (read: Sure wish I could
play like that!)
1. Ronald Van Spaendonck: wide range of tonal qualities, magical/misty,
effortless, playful, jazzy. Really conveys the music in all its moods /
permutations.
2. Reginal Kell: improvization quality, match the piano in attack/release,
jazzy, dramatic
3. Victoria Samek: uninspired start, excellent in the second half
4. Kalman Bloch: (maybe just an off-day, or a bad recording session)
I wish I had my favorite clarinetist playing it, Kalman Berkes.
