The story is nothing more than a constructed revision of the Niebelungen =
sagas. Hardly anything in the Ring is specifically drawn from the =
Norse/Germanic tales. There is a general relationship, but it is all =
revised into Wagner's way of thinking.

I'd like to understand what makes you say that, since the broad story
arc is contained in several Norse/Germanic texts (the V=C3=B6lsunga saga =
and
the Nibelungenlied).
