You might be able to take both your cases with you. A
friend of mine took both his alto sax and bass
clarinet cases as carry on. I once took a small
suitcase and my bass clarinet.

If you a find combo case, great. If you can't, I would
just take both instruments (cases) to the plane and
hope for the best. If they tell you something explain
it's musical instruments, etc. A couple of times they
thought the bass clarinet case was too big I just said
I took to the plane with me many times already before
and that solved all problems.
