One of the former members of this list, Larry Liberson, is a
clarinetist with the Detroit Symphony. He hasn't been on for a
while, but it was always a pleasure to read his postings, which
once included a great recipe for chocoloate cake.

Anyway, getting to the point, the Detroit Chamber Winds &
Strings, which is made up mostly (or maybe exclusively) of
Detroit Symphony members recently recorded, guess what, the Gran
Partitta.

I do not know who played what in the clarinet section because the
names are listed alphabetically, but it was splendid playing.
There were Brian Bowman and Campbell MacDonald, basset horns, and
Donald Cornelsen and Larry Liberson, clarinets. The conductor was
H. Robert Reynolds of the University of Michigan, a very
thoughtful and intelligent conductor.

Thought you all ought to know.
