Years ago, when I was playing with polka bands, we used to do the
clarinet polka on two e-flat clarinets. There were no parts, we
just faked it. But it was very effective and I got at least two
proposals of marriage from some of the women present, a few of
whom had moustaches. At Polish weddings, you must learn never to
look at a girl for very long, because her father will accused you
of trying to dishonor her, and the next thing you know a shotgun
appears along with two big brothers. So I would announce myself
as the fastest blind E-flat clarinet player in America. That way
I could never be accused of looking too long. Some of those
Polish girls were so incredibly beautiful, but they all had signs
around there neck that read, "Do not touch."

Sigh. Memories.

A fellow Eb (soprano) clarinet player and I are trying to find a
duet
for two E-flats - preferably something light. Yes, we could just
read a duet for B-flats, but we'd like something that showcases
the
instrument. Anyone have any suggestions?
