Subj: [kl] Help Identifying Old Clarinet
Date: Thu, 22 Mar 2007 14:59:05 -0400

I'm looking for any information I can find about an old clarinet that
recently found its way into my office. This thing is a plastic A
clarinet, marked High Pitch, serial # 680. What we can read of the
identifying stencil says: Made exclusively for W.H. Pa..... Co. Ltd.
Sydney. It is not a Boehm system instrument. There are only 2 pinky
keys per hand, and those have rollers between them. Of the left hand
ones, one is a very long lever, and the other has an articulated
mechanism so that when you push down on the key it bends in the middle
and the pad also goes down. If anyone could point me in the direction
of some pictures so that I could identify the key system, or tell me
anything about the company or how old this thing might be, I would
appreciate it. I'd like to keep it around for the students, as an
example of a different keywork system.

Thanks!
