Tony comments in a posting on this list (and with the link
specified in the note below), are the kind of comments in which
this group is at its absolute best. The interplay between the
player and the composer -- in this case Berio -- is wonderfully
described. I read it two or three time, it was so rich in
content.

Thank you Tony. It was a joy to see that kind of contribution.

I'm interested to hear this. Any evidence?

Yes, I did that the first couple of times I played it;

Yes, I've done that too, in Berio's presence -- see later.

But, not really true. Berio was of a generation that used the
full Boehm,
but that hasn't been true of the younger players, even in 1979.

I once told Berio that we had a great problem with classical
texts in Italy,
because many of them were edited by Giampieri, who mangled them
and then
insisted that he, Giampieri, was acknowledged at any performance
(for
example, of the Mozart Concerto) that used the Ricordi edition.

Berio said, "But....he was my professor!!!"

Anyway, my story about the Sequenza is at:

The offer of what we produced is still open. (Perhaps I should
make it
available on the website -- Mark?)
