Subj: [kl] Berio multiphonic fingerings
Date: Wed, 14 Mar 2007 13:15:55 -0400

Hello,
Can anyone offer suggestions on how to play certain multiphonics in the
Berio Sequenza IXa? In particular, the throat tone A-flat/B-flat and the
F-sharp/A-sharp, both between K and L.
Are these the fingerings that require a full Boehm to play? If so, is there
a most commonly used alternative, or something the composer himself
suggested?
If anyone is aware of any scholarship done on this work, I would be
interested in that, as well.
Many thanks,
Will
