But Electra is for two basset horns. I have played both parts,
most recently first basset at the SF Opera, and it is challenging
indeed. Which part are you playing Peter?

Peter,

That Electra part is one tough nut! I think my edition (don't
remember which
edition) was in G for much of the opera and some unusual clef
changes (some
tenor clef)....not to speak of the notation mistakes in
registration. Once
sorted out....it's a terrific part. It's and hour and 15 or so
minutes of
powerful music. Make that "pit stop" before you start!
