Well, you could always just make "bright" the new "dark"
and "dark" the new "bright". Really, it's subjective.
Decide which you want and then go from there. And
remember, the grass isn't necessarily greener on the other
side! Sometimes it pays to be happy with what you have
until you find a compelling reason to change. There
currently is no "Holy Grail" of clarinet sound.
