Hello;

I recently joined your list, and am so glad to have found it. I have been a
Member of a similar flute-related list for years and have learned so much
There, and wondered if there were lists for the other woodwinds: at least
For clarinet, my wishes have been answered!

I'm not much of a clarinetist, though. 9 years ago, I was a
Stay-at-home-mom with 4 young children. 8 years ago I became a widow with 4
Young children. 4 years ago I picked up a flute at a music store and
Decided to try playing again after 20-something years out of band. It was
So much fun I bought a better flute and got lessons from a professional
Teacher. As time has progressed since then I have delved more and more into
The world of music and musicians, began teaching at a local arts school,
Where I am the resident woodwind "expert" (which is not saying much!) and
Last fall decided to return to school and get my music degree, which I had
Started many years ago (actually, it was music therapy). I am now enrolled
And working toward a BA degree, where I hope to get my choral/vocal emphasis

And eventually get a Master's in woodwind pedagogy.

To that end, I am currently taking a basic woodwind techniques class. I had
Never had any experience with double reeds, so I took the oboe first. I had
Had a slight acquaintance with clarinet, and that is what I am working on,
Now.

Could anyone tell me of an active list such as this one for saxophone (the
One over at Sax On The Web doesn't seem to be active) or oboe?

Also, I am interested in information related to health issues concerning
Clarinetists. If you know of sites with good information on the specific
Health issues clarinetists experience, or woodwind players, I'd be grateful
If you'd send them along.

I'd like to ask a lot more, but for now that will suffice, I think. Have a
