Also, Hindemith wrote 2 duets for violin and clarinet in his "Ploner
Musiktag"
The correct title for the William Schuman piece I mentioned in an earlier
post is "Awake thou Wintry Earth" published by Merion Music(Theodore
Presser).
Another idea would be to play one or more of Telemann's Canonic Sonatas.
If you have a version for recorder it will be a minor third higher than a
flute/violin edition and you can use the A clarinet, otherwise, it's an easy
transposition using the flute/violin edition.

Greetings fellow clarinettists!

I would like to have suggestions for QUALITY compositions for clarinet and
violin (NO PIANO) only. Please consider for all clarinet keys (A, Bb, C,
Eb, Bass, etc).

I have an hour recital to develop with this combination per a very capable
violinist's request.

We want items that people would find enjoyable and interesting. I would
like to know if there are any "humorous" things. Techincal ones that are
still fun for listening. Well written items. Various time periods. Creative
compostitions.

I realize there is always the transposition of various other duos, keyboard
works and the like; so please do not suggest that.

I am looking more for pieces actually written for the two instruments.
Something that displays the characteristics or each well. I WOULD consider
something fun or something that uses the instruments well together even if
not original and you have had personal experience with it. Maybe share what
you know or like about performing the piece.

ALSO, please note that I am not a student looking for a shortcut when asking

for suggestions. I need to do this and would appreciate imput from others
in addition to what I will come across from my own research.

Thank you very much!
