Since the original questions asked about Bundy and B&H
saxes, I really don't think the Yana 9930 is even an
option. Especially since this model has a lot of
aesthetic upgrades that make the price even higher.

IMO Yanagisawa has the best built quality, but Yamaha
is close behind, so I also agree with others that
Yamaha saxophones are just very good and can recommend
them. A local professional recently compared his
Selmer SIII with a student Yamaha, and although he
liked the tone of his Selmer better, he said the
intonation on the Yamaha was better and excellent.
Some even consider the Yamaha 62 model better than
their newer "better" models, or at least just as good.

Another option that is not as expensive as Yamaha is
Jupiter. Their older modls (I think 6 series for
tenors) is not very good from what I hear (never tried
them). Their newer model from 7 series or higher are
good. I have tried both tenors and altos from these.
Maybe not as good as the Yamaha, especially with built
quality, but still worth considering because of their
lower price.

Hope this helps.
