REGINALD KELL

Published: August 22, 1981
Reginald Kell, a concert clarinetist, died on Aug. 5 at his home in
Frankfort, Ky., after a long illness.

He was 75 years old. He was born in England. He played in various London
symphony orchestras as a young man. Mr. Kell emigrated to the United States
in 1948 and settled in New York. For many years he was regarded as one of
this country's leading clarinet soloists, appearing frequently with major
orchestras and chamber groups. After retiring from the concert scene, Mr.
Kell took up painting and had several exhibitions of his canvases.

He leaves his wife, Diana; a son, Jeffrey, and four grandchildren.
