The question is whether or not you should be paying taxes on the
appreciated value of your home when you've not realized the appreciation
since you're living in it ... if you're a retiree who bought a nice home
for 50K in San Jose 30 years ago should you be paying full taxes on that
home now that it's worth upwards of $4 mil?
