Subject: Buffet E11

I recently bought a Buffet E11 C-clarinet. It is great and I love it.
Although it is advertised as grenadilla wood, and has grain to the wood, The
instructions with the instrument say never to oil the bore. A clarinet buddy
told me that is because it is made like greenline, and is really some sort
of composite, and oiling will weaken the glue that bonds the grenadilla
fibers. On the plus side, such construction would render it insensitive to
cold and moisture and cracks. I do play outdoor band concerts in crummy
weather.

So is the E11 a composite, or regular grenadilla wood construction?
