Just came back from a week in Santa Fe visiting family, but I did
go to a concert on Mozart's birthday. Unfortunately, no
clarinets used that night. But if they had used them, they would
have been Michael Anderson, Keith Lemmons, and Alfredo Lopez.

The orchestra was the Santa Fe Pro Musica in their silver
anniversary season. Nice group. Played well.

Santa Fe does not seem to be a place where there is a great deal
of work for players. During the summer, of course, they have a
splendiferous opera with an orchestra that is as good as you will
find anywhere. I went last summer and got blown away by the
quality of their playing. But they bring in many of the first
desk players. I think it was the principal of Minneapolis last
summer and he did a splendid Salome and Cosi Fan Tutte, back to
back.

But during the regular year, I don't think there is enough work
to keep a hungry pro busy, and nearby Albequerque has a splendid
bunch of players.

Anyway, if someone knows something about Anderson, Lemmons, and
Lopez, you know more than me because I never heard them.

The chile in the town is great!!
