For my fellow Americans who are considering traveling to Vancouver for the ClarinetFest, please allow me to remind you that, after next week, you will be *required* to have a passport to re-enter the United States by air. This has never been the case for travel between the US and Canada, so folks who have not traveled extensively might not be aware of it.

It takes many months to get a passport through the normal bureaucratic channels, so it is *not *too early to begin right now.
