Fernando Silveira posted re the ICA Clarinet Fest in Vancouver, B.C. to be
held on the campus of the University of British Colombia on July 4-8, 2007:

<<< YES!!! I am very excited, too, to meet all of you!! Will be my very
first time in Canada...
Maybe we can schedule a pizza together. I think Dan would approve it!!??
Dan??>>>

I second the emotion - we should *definitely* have a Klarinet Fest. Once we
know the hotel etc., we'll hit up Morrie Backun for suggestions on the
venue. Adding him to alert to his new responsibilities.

Canadian pizza is pretty standard North American stuff. Vancouverites
(Vancouverians? Folks from Vancouver) fancy themselves as cosmopolitan and
worldly, so some may be marketed as more "authentic" or even "gourmet" etc.
All marketing hogwash, of course.

. . . but I will admit that our Canadian friends do seem to have a way with
beer, without which no good pizza would be complete.

Here's the deal. I live a bit east of Seattle, a few short hours away by
car. Since I have to travel less than most anyone (other than our busy
Canadian hosts, of course), I will buy each and every Klarinet member I meet
one (1) fine cold Canadian brewed beverage. This way I'll get a number of
new acquaintances, perhaps even friends.

I'll be easy to spot - I have less hair than anyone else there. Be nice to
all of the bald guys, one might be me!
