Gillian,
Search the archives here and you'll find a lot of
advice ranging from orange peels to hi tech
humidfiers. Recently I read somewhere someone saying
that a humidfier works slowly, maybe taking days or
weeks to rehumidfy the case and instrument, but that
it will surely work. I've read all these things, yet
never done them. I ought to... But, two months ago
I started putting a pan of water on the floor heater
in my small apartment. I'm amazed at the amount of
water that is consumed. Almost 2 liters per day. My
instruments are normal, the rings are tight, and the
tips of my fingers are not cracking!! (This is my
personal humidty test.)
