Hello, Everyone.

I hope all of my Jewish Friends have had a
wonderful and reverent Chanukkah, and that the
Christians will have had a Merry Christmas.

I have been writing my huge "First Symphony",
which I hope will total over an hour long, when all
4 movements are done. It uses the usual "Wood-
winds in 3's", plus 6 Horns, 3 Trumpets, Tuba,
Euphonium, 4 Timpani, 3 Percussionists, Harp
and Strings. It is also somewhat of a Concerto for
Orchestra, as I am deliberately giving Solos to
EVERY wind player (including Second Chair
Players), each string section, etc. I finished the 29-
minute Moderato First Movement in May 2006.
A 4-bar Horn Call Motive, an 8-bar Horn Melody,
and several 6-Horn Choir passages carry the move-
ment, and it already has Solos for most of the other
wind instruments and string sections.

(And, yes, that means I already did give nice Solos
to each of the two Bb Soprano Clarinets and Bass
Clarinet in the First Movement.)

At the moment I am in the last few pages of
writing the Fast Second Movement, which brings
it to 11 1/2 minutes, with about another minute to
go. It is an ABA Form, with the two "A" Sections
being like loud, rowdy, barbaric Percussion
Concerti. The "B" Section is a 3-minute long,
happy-go-lucky "Perpetual Motion Piece" as well
as being the world's longest "Retrograde-Inversion
Canon".

I have plans to write schmaltzy melodies, featuring
the Strings in the Slow Third Movement, and the
Fourth Movement will be the World Premiere of
the Thirteenth Category of New Fugue that I have
Invented.

Other than this, my time is preoccupied by health
problems. In the last few years I've had hundreds
of Diabetic Black-Outs. In October 2005 I started
using "Byetta", which is a new medicine that slows
down and stabilizes the liver and pancreas in
Diabetics. It stopped all my Diabetic Black-Outs
for 9 months, but since July 2006 they been back
at the same frequency as before. Each one causes
me to go unconscious for several hours of near-
death Shock from Low Blood Sugar Levels, and
the second day when I wake up, I have no memory
of the Unconscious Day at all. (There was one
earlier today, and two yesterday.) I wanted to send
this message yesterday, but I was a little busy.

All the best to all of you!
