Is everyone aware that the Beethoven 7 arrangement at one time
existed in only one copy of the parts? A Dutch lover of
harmoniemusik searched that set of parts down somewhere in
Germany, and from that set made a copy for me. I played it in
the early 1970s and it was a screamer. I was not impressed with
the arrangement.

I think that the Dutch player finally got Musica Rara to issue a
set of parts.

Yes, it's the Sedlak arrangement, spiffed up a bit by
Schottstadt, who's no slouch in this department.

Schottstadt also did a great arrangement of the
Freischutz Overture for wind sextet (clarinets,
bassoons, horns).
