You've done nothing wrong.
Unfortunately, your target group of potential buyers is incredibly small.
To ask a talented student or semi-pro to drop $10,000 on an instrument where
the repertoire is but a (very small) handful of works is asking quite a lot.
Thus, you are left with the (ever declining) small pool of full-time working
professional clarinetists.
Economic times for classical musicians are difficult. Given the choice of
buying a basset clarinet or purchasing a new car, paying the mortgage or
saving some funds, a new harmony clarinet purchase is low on the agenda of
priorities.
