Hi to all,
Though new to the clarinet, I've been a Mac users since 1984. Final
Cut will work with the set up you're describing, but it will be
painfully slow with only 512MB or RAM - you need at least 2GB for
reasonable performance. As to Finale - no problem, but again more
memory would bet better. In addition, I would recommend at least a 20
inch screen. If you're new to video editing - stick with Final Cut
Express rather than the Pro version - it's cheaper and you can always
upgrade later. Also, get the Apple Protection Plan - its money well
spent. And finally, if you want to avoid sales tax, buy from a vendor
other than Apple direct (e.g. PowerMax they are in OR).
