Palisades Virtuosi Presents Dreamscapes on December 2, Featuring World
Premiere of New Work by Allen Shawn

Ridgewood, NJ - The critically-acclaimed Palisades Virtuosi will present
“Dreamscapes”, a program of chamber masterworks on Saturday, December 2
- 8:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Society of Ridgewood, 113 Cottage Place in
Ridgewood, New Jersey.

This 2006-07 season concert will feature the World Premiere of Allen
Shawn’s Three Nightscapes. The Virtuosi will also present Maria
Grenfell’s Poems of a Bright Moon for flute, clarinet, piano, Prelude,
Recit et Variations for flute, viola and piano by Maurice Durufle,
Märchenerzahlungen (Fairy Tales) for piano, clarinet and viola, Op. 132
by Robert Schumann, Franz Liszt’s Dreaming: Nocturne, S. 107 for solo
piano and selections from Jeux D'Enfants by Georges Bizet (arr. Michael
Webster). Every concert by the Palisades Virtuosi includes a work
commissioned by the ensemble.

Special guest for this concert will be renowned violist Brett Deubner,
who enjoys a career of frequent solo recitals, membership in top
American orchestras, and chamber music collaborations worldwide. Visit

Allen Shawn is a composer of a large catalogue of orchestral and chamber
music. He has composed three chamber operas, songs, piano music, and
music for ballet, theater, and film. He was the recipient of a 1995
Goddard Lieberson Fellowship from the American Academy of Arts and
Letters, and an Academy Award in Music from the Academy in 2001. His
music is recorded on Opus One, Bay Cities, Northeastern, and Albany
records, and is published by Boosey and Hawkes, Oxford University Press,
Galaxy Music, GunMar Music, and Morningstar Music. He studied with Nadia
Boulanger and at Columbia University. He has taught at Bennington

The Palisades Virtuosi, consisting of flutist Margaret Swinchoski,
clarinetist Donald Mokrynski and pianist Ron Levy, is a 501 (c)(3)
organization that was established to promote and enrich the repertoire
for flute, clarinet and piano and present concerts that include existing
and newly-commissioned repertoire for this configuration, supplemented
by solos, duos and larger works featuring guest artists. Volume One of
their New American Masters CD series has been released by Albany
