But you also have to teach him how to decide that sometimes, even though
everyone else wants him to do something, he has to have the strength to be
true to himself and NOT do it -- if he finds in the process that *he* really
doesn't want to do it.

I'm not suggesting that that's true of your son and music, by the way. It's
just that it's an important quality of a person that we need to nurture --
and sometimes it's forgotten.
