While it is good to read that TSA is aware of the trouble involved to
musician
as a result of reinforced controls, what I read keeps me a little doubting..

First, the two links included in their message are wrong... not very
convincing !
(here is what I found in searching their site :
http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/assistant/editorial_1235.shtm )

But again, what is explained there is not completely relaxing. As an
example, you will find :

"If security officers cannot clear the instrument through the security
checkpoint as a carry-on item,
you should transport the instrument and (as ??) checked baggage instead."

What should we undestand ? That we are allowed to carry our instruments, but
that any time
it could happen that it is no loger possible ? Just because the security
officer will decide
on his own ?

This is definitely not serious ...

Good luck, anyway.
Christopher
