Selmer mouthpieces are seldom made to their own measurements, and are usually crooked. I fix them for people all of the time.

Rico reeds ( except the Jazz select filed) have too short a vamp for that mouthpiece. Use Vandorens, and with the little kid , probably a # 1 1/2 to start , then a #2. The short facing will cause your problems. Brancher might work too? Even with the Vandorens you have to shave a little in the "w" cut. Don't shave the sides or the center, but eliminate some of the U from the primary cut---shave back into the bark some. Call me and I will send you a diagram if you want.

Morgan makes a good inexpensive Pro Tone, but the Selmer will be a lot better WHEN the rails are balanced to the right measurements. Is it the old one with the knurled ridge around the butt, or an S80?
