I know that this is always subjective and can vary tremendously
depending of the other equipment one is using, BUT, any thoughts or
comments on these barrels, how they compare to the Moennig barrels as
to playing characteristics. Could you give approximate bore
measurements of the taper that they use?

Ed, I am not going to publish a "spec" for two reasons. First, I have only
examined a limited sample. Secondly, if a spec is to be published, it should
be up to Zinner to publish it, not me.

I will say that the bore taper is VERY similar to that which I use in my own
barrels (which measurements I do not publish). My "best" reamer fits in the
Zinner bore with hardly a sideways wiggle. (My taper was derived from
measurements supplied to me by Clark Fobes as representing the original Moennig
measurements, and also from my own empirical experiences.)

I think the aspect where the Zinner barrels will distinguish themselves is
the very high degree of finishing, with regard to bore inner and out surfaces.
This, of course, is consistent with the very high quality of the Zinner
blanks we have all come to admire.
