Just a note from a guy with "blue collar" in my blood, with many years of
experience as a "worker" in an auto parts manufacturing plant before three
graduate degrees and my "rise" to professional status.

Shoddy workmanship is ALWAYS the responsibility of management. Management
sets the quality standards, not the workers.

Management decides on what tooling gets used, how good that tooling is, how
much time a worker is allowed to devote to the product, and the training and
mentoring each worker gets. Finally, management decides what is okay to go
out the door, and what isn't, not the person on the line.

Please don't blame shoddy workmanship on the workers. They have little
control over what they produce, how they produce it, or the level of quality
of their products.
