There are several musical instrument museums you ought to check out while there including:
the Bate Collection in Oxford
Royal College of Music in London
The Horniman Museum in London
Edinburgh University Collection of Historic Musical Instruments held at the Reid Concert Hall, Edinburgh, Scotland
The Russell Collection of Historic keyboards held at St Cecilia's Hall, Edinburgh, Scotland

Each of these museums has a wonderful and varied collection of instruments and many days can easily be spent at each. As well, the curatorial staff at each are knowledgeable, interesting and helpful.

There is also a wonderful music store in Oxford, but the name is escaping me at the moment.

Enjoy the UK!
