The real issue is not about other people wanting to upgrade. The problem
with trying to pass off someone else's serial number as yours, is that it
is a
crime. It is called software piracy. Software piracy is a form of theft,
just
as real as shop lifting.

I don't always agree with the policies of software companies. It irks me,
sometimes, to pay over and over for updates to Finale.

However, I do know that "upgrades" fund new development, bug fixes,
adaptation to operating system changes, etc. Software companies never live
off just
the initial purchase price.
