I was too hasty. It's not rubber cement, it's some sort of clear crap that
dries harder than rubber cement and seems to be impossible to remove from
the key cups.

Any advice (besides don't buy a Chinese clarinet)?

Walter, any words of wisdom (after you stop laughing)?
