David,

My high school clarinet teacher had this problem when he'd get worn out, and
I had it as a teen. It stopped by itself, for me, and I've never had it
again, no matter how out of shape I've been, but when I was having the
problem, there wasn't a thing I could do to stop it except constrict my
throat (though "it" was coming from the nasal passages). Seemed
"pharyngeal" to me. The sound of the leak was evident, but very little air
came out of my nose.
