Thanks, Walter. We have a very experienced and capable bass clarinetist who
I'm certain has played the part before, so that'll be OK. The tenor player I
have lined up is also excellent. Part of the reason for my question is that
he asked about playing 2nd clarinet when there is no tenor. He is concerned
that the tenor part overall, even though it's difficult and very exposed,
won't involve him in enough of the music. Since it's only a reading with no
performance involved, we might not miss a few 2nd clarinet passages, but I
take it from your answer that we shouldn't try to get by with him bouncing
back and forth between the two parts.

Thanks again.

Karl
