It's 2.625 inches (66.67mm), assuming I just measure
from end to end, including the metal rings. The
entire range *is* flat. (I have everything pushed in
as far as it will go, too.)

I'm afraid my amateur status is showing (again)
because I didn't realize you could buy a shorter
barrel. That's interesting.
