The "why?" that I asked was not to ask why it costs so much, but rather to
beg the question as to why I expected him to only sell about 50 mouthpieces.
It was somewhat rhetorical. As for confrontational, I'm known to be frank
and make frequent use of that literary device called hyperbole, but I wasn't
being rude by any means in being skeptical.

>If you had said, "does anyone have an opinion on these mouthpieces?", many
>here
>would have gladly responded and given their honest opinion(s).

I did ask. Did you even read the last sentence of my message asking for
honest opinions?

>And as for the statements of your rather busy life and exemplary career

I merely said I was busy -- busy enough to not have the time to wait months
and months for new, custom mouthpieces in the event mine breaks. What's so
haughty about that? If you interpret that as trying to pull rank above the
rest of you, then bless your heart.

>It seems, however, as if you have a large amount of time on your hands
>however to do your >website, self promotion and various and sundry other
>things.

I said I "have" a lot of stuff done... not that I "do". There is a
difference. And yes it took about 5 years for that website to grow to what
it has become, a page here... a page there. I devote about 30 minutes to it
every 3 months or as needed, and the results are instant. That's a lot less
time than waiting months for mouthpieces that I may need tomorrow. I'm proud
of where my site has gotten, and neither you or anyone else can undermine
what it has taken for it to get to that point. How dare you even try.

As for self-promotion, that is a part of most any performing musicians
career. Face it. The only thing separating a famous musician from one
equally good (if not better) who isn't famous... is promotion or, better
yet, gossip. It doesn't take a lot of time or effort to give a guy a
business card or drop a packet in the mail if someone requests it. And even
if they aren't requesting packets, what are people supposed to do? Sit on
our booties and wait for everyone to just come to us? Oh I know... let me
just give Kurt Masur a blow job... maybe I'll get famous then?

>Perhaps you can find time by easing down a little bit on telling the rest
>of us how wonderful you are >(I DID read your bio).

This wasn't even about me. "Showering" the board with grandeur and whatever
other load of crap??? Haha... I kept this primarily focused on mouthpieces.
Now you're getting personal. No one forced you to go to my website or read
my biography. That I was flooding the list with "me me me... it's all about
me" is preposterous.

>"Personally, I'm glad you're succeedig and doing what you want to do, but
>as
>you said, I don't need you to tell me about it.

>As a professional soloist, recitalist and freelance player who teaches 20
>students on top of 80+ yearly performances around the globe..."

And you complain that I'm trying to pull rank by simply stating that I am
"busy"?

This is ridiculous. YOU are ridiculous. Goodness gracious.
