I know I am not a disinterested, or even impartial observer. I hand craft
and sell mouthpieces. I do it for a profit. It's my job. Just as anyone here
expects a paycheck for a "gig" or a salary for teaching, the craftsmen must
make a profit, or quit what they are doing and find other employment.

I know and respect Brad Behn. He's a good guy.He is honest and fair. If he
is selling mouthpieces in the $600 range, it is because he has made tremendous
expenditures in order to make this mouthpiece available.

If a $600 mouthpiece offends you - don't buy one. It's that simple. But
there is no point in getting outraged about it.

We are VERY fortunate right now to have MANY excellent choices in
mouthpieces. Those of you who are a little older remember that this was not true 20 or
25 years ago.

For those who can't afford, or object to a high price, there are many models
from Vandoren that are $69.95.

What object to having many choices? Do we condemn the auto industry for
having both Volkswagens and Porches?
