Just an update, I arrived in A'dam after flying DTW-ORD-DUB-AMS. I was able
to carry on my laptop backpack containing a mobile recording studio, my bass
clarinet in a stock Yamaha case (which is smaller than any other BC case
I've seen), and my double clarinet case in <a
href="http://www.wwbw.com/Woodwind-Double-Clarinet-Case-i98050.music">this</
a> case, but already had taken out all cork grease. The only problem I had
was DTW-ORD, where they made me check something at the gate. I had a large
duffel that I put the horns in there... and doing it this way, I avoided the
$100 charge for having a 3rd checked bag. All the rest of the legs I was
able to carry on everything with no problems, though my laptop was swabbed
for bombs at a few security gates because of the extra electronics. These
flights were on American Airlines and Aer Lingus, for FWIW.
