There is a big piece on the front page of today's NY Times (8/15)
about the problems of orchestra's all over the world having to
rethink their schedules of travel because of the events of a few
days ago. My guess is that you will have trouble with cork
grease.

Does anyone know if carrying cork grease in the case and carrying
it on
has been questioned by the security people?

I have to travel to Knoxville, Tennessee this Friday and will be
carrying on my clarinet. I have already decided to not carry my
mouthpiece or any other accessories in the case, but I was
wondering
about cork grease just in case the security personnel want me to
assemble the clarinet for them.

Perhaps someone coming back from the Clarinetfest in Atlanta can
share
what they went through. Speaking of Clarinetfest, I was not able
to
attend. I am looking forward to someone sharing some comments
about it
on the list.
