Fred----Why for little kids? We have a Heisig flute with 2 heads, straight and curved, that several professionals have found to be a very good flute. I use one myself for most of my playing, even though I own a Haynes and a fine wooden flute. It comes with 2 heads, but I play the curved one, as it has a better sound and IS A LOT BETTER ERGONOMICALLY!!

True, we do sell them for a little kids price--$495-515---but they are a fine flute for lots of professional work. Another advantage is when doubling in a big band and having your clarinet and flute on pegs on your sax stand, if a lady dances too close and her skirt comes over your intstruments it is a lot less likely to get snagged (YES this HAS happened to my Haynes!!!). In the miserable circumstance of a too close set up in a section, it is also a lot less incursion on your section-mates space.
