Dear Bobby,

What you have is likely an Eb flute, pitched a minor third higher
(and thus physically smaller) than a "standard" C flute.

Once used as a substitute for the Eb soprano clarinet (as he deftly
brings this back on topic), which I didn't know and once used with
beginners who had small hands.
