This reminds me of a conversation that I had with a repairman recently (this
will open a can of worms!). Just how many years will a clarinet last if
played on a regular basis (2 hours daily)? I have a collegue that has been
playing his set of R13's since 1956 for many hours each day. They look
terrible, but, he sounds amazing!

Also, please remember that oboes wear out much faster than clarinets.
Professional oboe players are constantly replacing their instruments.
