I like affordable clarinets just as much as anyone. I too have students, and
I have several of my personal clarinets that are due for replacement.

But, here is some food for thought.

The cheapest price I could find on a Powell flute was about $3400. A Loree
Oboe costs around $4000. We all know what bassoons cost.
Why should we expect a quality professional level clarinet to sell below
$2000?

There have been many, many posts on here decrying the lack of quality and
finishing on new clarinets. We all know that quality and "the lowest price" are
seldom compatible.
