Mark Sausville asked about selling his Buffet Elites:

<<<I'd like to hear the groups comments on Buffet Elite clarinets, both on
sound/playing characteristics and monetary value.

Can someone recommend a place where they could be placed for consignment?
Since they are unusual, I'm wondering if there is a place that specializes
in the hard to find.>>>

Sure - Ebay. Clarinet players all over the world will see them and
(hopefully) bid on them. Ebay has "stabilized" the prices for popular used
instruments - much like the Kelly Blue Book for used cars.

I've not seen Elites on Ebay - or if I have, don't remember - so don't have
a good idea of what the street price would be. The only way to know is to
list them. If you set a high enough reserve (at the point where you'd just
as soon keep them), you'll get to keep them.

If you don't want to bother with the electronic marketplace yourself, I'm
sure that there are places near you that will handle the transaction for a
consignment fee. The one I've used here in Seattle is Bidadoo
(www.bidadoo.com) - they take a percentage, but reduce the hassle.

Good luck!
