If the fact that someone expresses reservations about teaching clarinet
to an eight year old, and this equates for you as having "reservations
about teaching someone," then by the same logic, I suppose you would
have no reservations about teaching the clarinet, or the tuba, to a
three-year old.=20

People mature at different rates, and they learn at different rates. For
learning to be effective, the student must be prepared, psychologically
as well as physically, to learn. If they are not, the effort of both
the student and the teacher will be wasted.
