Oliver,
I would not use an eefer for two reasons: 1) they cannot be rented and
the cheapest plastic one is relatively pricey. 2) They really are much
shriller than beefers and that might turn her off. I don't know if he
tone holes might also be too large.
If they are, I might recommend something called the "Kinder Clari". I
have not used it yet (have not needed to) but it might be worth
looking into. It is a completely plastic (keys too) instrument pitched
in C with very small holes and a simplified Boehm system. Check them
out online.
