Palisades Virtuosi Presents Hommage a Les Six on June 10 – Concert Also
Features New Work by Gary Eskow

New York NY - The critically-acclaimed Palisades Virtuosi will present
Hommage a Les Six, on Saturday June 10 - 8:00 p.m. as part of St. Paul’s
Festival of the Arts at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, South
Broadway and Division Street in Nyack, New York.

Performers for this special concert will be Virtuosi members, flutist
Margaret Swinchoski, clarinetist Donald Mokrynski and pianist Ron Levy.

This concert will feature chamber works by this legendary group of 20th
Century French composers, including the Poulenc Clarinet Sonata,
Milhaud’s Trio for Flute [orig. Violin], Clarinet & Piano, Honegger’s
Concerto Da Camera for Flute, Clarinet [orig. English horn] & Piano, and
a set of short pieces by Georges Auric, Germaine Tailleferre and Louis
Durey for Flute and Piano.

The Virtuosi will also present a new work by contemporary New Jersey
composer Gary Eskow, which was commissioned by them and originally
premiered as part of their New Jersey concert series earlier this
season. Not a Sonata is a jazzy and engaging work in which each movement
celebrates a particular musical personality or style: Movements are
Monsieur P. [Poulenc], Remembering Ray [Charles], Coconut Cream [a
musical confection] and Scherzophrenia. Visit Gary Eskow at
http://www.garyeskow.com/. Every concert by the Palisades Virtuosi
includes a new work that has been commissioned by the ensemble.

Suggested donation for the June 10 concert is $10. For reservations or
other information, please call 845-358-1481 or 201-488-1149.

The Palisades Virtuosi was established to promote and enrich the
repertoire for flute, clarinet and piano and presents concerts that
include existing and newly-commissioned repertoire for this
configuration, supplemented by solos, duos and larger works featuring
guest artists. Volume 1 of their New American Masters CD series has just
been released by Albany Records -
